Sheikh Abdul-Rahman M.Yaki

Shiekh Abdul-Rahman the lmam of Islamic Research & Humanitarian Service Center of America is a Native Ghanian,through the direction of his parents he entered upon the path of scholarship and righteousness at an early age. His life was that of discipline and rigidness, the qualities needed to become successful in this world.

Sheikh Abdul Rahman received his religious education in Ghana, Africa. He attended and studied the traditional Maliki School of Jurisprudence in Nigeria and then attended the Islamic University in Niger where he obtained a Bachelors in Islamic Law. He became the youngest Secretarial General of Muslim Scholars under Sheikh Ibrahim, Chief Imam of Ahlul Sunnah wa Jammah in Accra, Ghana.

In 1998 he traveled to America to continue his studies and obtained his Masters Degree from the School of Islamic and Social Sciences



of America in Leesburg, VA. He was the first Imam of the Ivy City Masjid & Educational Center and later became the Imam and Leader of The Islamic Research & Humanitarian Service Center of America in Capitol Heights, Maryland.

In (2004) he established AMANA, to address the needs and concerns of Ghanian citizens in America. Besides his knowledge of the religion and command of the Arabic Language, he has established himself as one of
the leading Imams in social needs of the Muslim Community in the way
of marriage counseling. Many have benefited from his knowledge and guidance. Sheikh Abdul-Rahman regularly conducts seminars and workshops on a variety of Islamic topics. He is also currently serving as
the Islamic Chaplin in Albany, New York, as well as serving as part time
Imam at the Islamic Center of the Capitol District in Albany, New York.
